Apple September Event - Wants
Thoughts on what Apple will announce next week.
Apple is having an event on September 7. There will probably be a new iPhone. Maybe a new Watch. Maybe some new iPads. Maybe they’ll finally update some Macs.
We’ll find out next week.
Until then, here’s what I would like to see.
iPhone (and iPad, maybe)
I don’t care if the headphone jack stays or goes. I don’t care much about fancy dual cameras. I just want it to be quicker and with more battery life.
I also want the 16GB model to go die in a fire. It’s well past due for Apple to drop that and add more space to the base models (iPhones and iPads). I shelled out for more space already, though convincing friends and family has proven rather useless. So I’m still stuck dealing with questions about freeing up space. This is the epitome of low-hanging fruit and is well past-due.
I’m not sure what I’d like to see in a new Watch. I don’t actually have one, though Watch OS 3 has me reconsidering. Really, some substantial improvements to battery life and performance would be enough to move me to the edge of purchasing one. Add in a price cut and I may even pre-order.
Something. Anything. Even just a spec bump. Just to get away from this.
Seeing as I’m not getting a Mac anytime soon, I would really like to see some new ideas from Apple on this front. Macs are solid and stable, so I think now would be a good time to try something new. I’m not sure if the supposed touch-function-key-row thing is going to happen, but it would at least be a sign that Apple actually cares to try new things with the Mac.
We’ll see next week what happens and what gets announced. I’ll probably write up something about it.
